Ingeborg Rossow er dr.philos på en avhandling om helseatferd blant barn og unge fra 1993. Forskningsinteresser og vitenskapelige publikasjoner dekker ulike tema som suicidal atferd, alkoholbruk og narkotikabruk i befolkningen, alkoholrelaterte skader, evaluering av lokalt rusforebyggende arbeid, overdoser, og ungdom og pengespill.

Ingeborg Rossow er bl a 'assistant editor' for tidsskriftet Addiction, medlem av det norske kompetansenettverket på rusmiddelfeltet og medlem av WHOs rådgivende ekspertpanel på alkohol- og narkotikaspørsmål. Hun har fått professor Ragnar Vogts gullmedalje for rusmiddelforskning.
